On the Open Road

It's been roughly 24 hours and I already miss this man more than I can put into words. Luckily I have this cuddly little ball of fluff to keep me company in his (hopefully brief) absence.
But man, did we have quite the adventure driving across country together to get me settled in. The sights, the sounds, and, sometimes unfortunately, the smells. Alas, it was a trip I will never forget. Full of junk food, radio roulette, and cheap motels, it lived up to every expectation I had preconceived in my head before we embarked. It took roughly 2 and a half days, approximately 38 hours on the road, and plenty of cash but we made it safe and sound and I couldn't be happier. And just think, I get to do it all over again in a couple months when the manfriend finally comes home! Hazaaah!
Since moving your whole life is pretty overwhelming and takes a lot of your attention, my posts will be intermittent for a while until I get settled, fair warning. However, I will leave you with a few road trip, house improvement, rainy day pictures along the way to keep you satisfied- I hope! Stay tuned!!

It's been fun, California.

But, it's time to move out for a bit. Explore some new land. But, there are plenty of things I am going to miss.

Like this sweet little girl. Thank goodness I'll only be without her for a couple months and she'll be in the loving hands of her daddy. Yes, I'm that weird girl who talks about her animals as if they were my children. I consider it practice. Very, very mild practice.
I'm going to miss having the beach 10 minutes away, having the snow within an hour away. We really are lucky here in California. I know I'll be back, maybe not to live, who knows. That's what I love about what we are about to embark on; endless possibilities. Who knows where we'll end up 5 years down the road. We're young and this is the time to do this sort of thing, right? Before we settle down, have kids, buy a house. There's plenty of time to know where your life is going but, at some point, you have to just live in the moment if just for a little while. Especially when you're like me and have spent most of your life worried about every little detail. I still do. But, then I take a breath and remind myself that if not now, then when? When will I start creating memories that will last, stories to tell my kids and grandkids? I say now's a good time, don't you?

It's official

We have a place to live! Wooohoo! Ain't it just the cutest? Equipped with it's very own palm tree which will be properly decked with Christmas decor starting December 1st and I can't promise it won't stay up until the day our lease ends. It is going to be so nice to live in a house again. Apartment living just isn't my thing. How about you guys?

Ps. I cannot wait to start up some DIY projects! Any favorites you guys want to share, shoot me a comment.

Here's a little story...

about my situation. I am about to embark on one of the most exciting adventures of my life. In t-minus 3 days and some-odd hours I will be making the long trek across the country to work for Walt Disney World. Hold the applause, please. Whilst I'm there I plan to experience as much as I can, everything they have to offer. I mean, how many times in a lifetime does one get to make dreams come true for millions of people across the world? Not often, is the answer to that question and I'm so ready to do it! With a chipper disposition and a small mouse-like size I believe I can do great things there. I will be sharing adventures of the road, perks at the park, and all that lies between. Hold on to your seats, folks, it's gonna be more breathtaking, more rip-roaring, more racy than the infamous Toad's Wild Ride (Fun Factoid: it's the only "ride" still remaining at Disneyland. The rest are referred to as "attractions")
